About Your Apprenticeship

Our two-year apprenticeship programme is an excellent and rewarding opportunity for you to gain industry recognised qualifications, skills, and experience whilst you earn. During your first year, you’ll complete four, three-month rotations across our Commercial, Development, Land and Construction divisions giving you a fantastic insight into what it would be like to become a Quantity Surveyor, Land Buyer, Development Manager, and a Site Manager. From working with surveyors in the Commercial department to assisting the Site Manager at our Construction sites, no day will be the same.

Being part of a cohort of 12 apprentices across the UK, you’ll be supported every step of the way by your manager, a workplace mentor, as well as our Talent and Learning team. Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll get dedicated time to focus on achieving your Level 4 apprenticeship qualification which will set you up for success in your rotations and in your future role and career with us.

In your second year, you will have the opportunity to specialise in your chosen department in either Commercial, Development, Land or Construction. Whichever route you choose, our bespoke apprenticeship programme will give you the best possible start to your career within the construction industry, a recognised qualification and invaluable life skills.

About You

Passionate and wanting to undertake an apprenticeship with an award-winning employer.

2 A-levels in any subject OR Level 3 qualification in a similar qualification or discipline by September 2022.

Equivalent of 5 GCSEs, grades A*-C or 9-4, including Maths and English.

Organised, can work well to deadlines and able to and prioritise.

Enjoys challenges in day-to-day work.

Can solve problems and make decisions.

Communicates clearly, both written and verbally with good attention to detail.

Works well within a team, but equally on their own.

Able to use a computer and Microsoft software.

Located within a reasonable distance from our regional office (Coventry)

What happens next?

Following this, if you are chosen to progress to the next stage, you will be contacted by telephone for a short interview regarding you experience and desire to join the McCarthy Stone Apprenticeship programme.

If successful, you will be invited to attend 1 of our 4 assessment centres held across the North, Midlands, London & South East and Southern during July, for the final stage of the application process.
