Kerr & Sons Antiquarian Booksellers

Description

Established in Cartmel, Cumbria in 1933, the Kerr family have traded in second-hand and antiquarian books for 85 years.

Making us the longest established Antiquarian Booksellers in Cumbria and the Lake District. The business originally specialised in transport and engineering books under the husband and wife partnership of Norman and Paddy Kerr.

Since then the business has expanded into its third generation with John Kerr and his two sons, Robert and Stuart, continuing to operate from a small shop and showroom/store in the picturesque Lake District Village of Cartmel.

We are former members of both the ABA (Antiquarian Booksellers Association) and the PBFA (Provincial Booksellers Fairs Association), and have strong links with the book trade as both John's Uncles (Ewen Kerr & Horace Halewood) were well known Antiquarian Booksellers based in Kendal and Preston respectively. John is a fifth generation Bookseller on his mother's side, so it must be in the blood!
