Band 3 - Therapy Assistant

We are looking for highly motivated staff to join our therapy team who are
driven to deliver high quality, patient centred care.
As a therapy assistant you will work as part of the integrated therapy team
with both occupational therapists and physiotherapists. Under the guidance of senior therapists you will provide rehabilitation to assist patients to regain their independence.

You will also liaise with patients and their relatives/carers to gain information about the patient and their functional abilities, complete assessment of the home environment and provide advice and information appropriately.

You will have to maintain accurate patient records and there will also be
admin tasks associated with your role. There will also be duties around the
department including maintaining equipment from a Health and Safety
perspective.

You should ideally have had previous experience providing direct patient care in a healthcare setting or other relevant experience. It is essential you have an understanding of the way in which illness can affect a person’s ability to care for him/herself and the way in which therapists can assist patients to relearn basic skills and improve functional abilities.
